Most Unusual Cookie Cutters From Around the Web
Published 16 March 2012 by Serena Rizzi
There is nothing boring or 'cookie cutter' about these cookie cutters! We've put together these images to give you some shopping and baking inspiration. They're perfect for a themed party and will really complement the other food that you serve, but you might have to search online to buy them.
These cookies can be paired with anything to give it an angelic spin. They look perfect dusted with a little sugar. They're an obvious choice for Christmas but we can think of many more occasions where they'd go down well. You could add nutmeg and other spices into the cookie mix to make them even more seasonally appropriate.

These hand and feet cookie cutters would be fantastic to celebrate the birth of baby or even a 1st birthday. We think they would look great with different coloured icing, a la our 'Beautiful Butterflies' iced sugar cookies tutorial from issue 1 of Cake Decorating magazine. Pastel colours would probably work best - or you could go for vivid reds, greens and blues to mimic poster paint-covered hands and feet.

Fancy a bite of Stoke-on-Trent? These Britain and Ireland cookies are sure to be a hit in the year of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. They would make a great table centerpiece for a summer party table filled with other quintessentially English snacks. A good idea would be to serve them with food like summer cucumber sandwiches, cheddar scones, fresh lemonade and a teapot of freshly brewed English tea.

Rolling with the summer theme, we think these cookies would be a hit for a day at the seaside, or any kind of sea-side themed party. Not that you need an occasion, really. You could experiment with food colouring to create something tropical - perhaps you have some food colours left over from colouring the sugar paste on the Fun Circles Cake (Issue 1).

Hairy sweets anyone? These cookies would be perfect for a Movember party or a fancy dress 'do. Moustache costumes and gifts are undoubtedly trendy at the moment and everyone seems to love their old fashioned charm. They would make great snacks at a Sherlock Holmes party.
Have you discovered any usual cookie cutters on your own? Do you like the weird and wacky or do you prefer the classic shapes? Are there are any shapes that have led to some kitchen disasters?
